 When you finally reach Turtle Town, you will be able to go snorkeling in the clear waters off the coast of Maui. You will be snorkeling above the colorful coral reef system that Maui is famous for. There is also a good chance you will catch many of these Hawaiian sea turtles swimming in the water. These green sea turtles can weigh up to 400 pounds and they can swim at speeds of up to 35 miles an hour! The turtles here in Maui are unique because they are vegetarian. They eat a diet of mostly sea grasses and algae, which is thought to be the reason they have their green color.
